At A Peaceful Return To Eden, it’s important to us that your beloved pet is given a dignified farewell.
That’s why we have you and your family involved in every aspect of your pet’s transition from life to the other side. We understand that choosing what to do with your pet’s remains is a very personal decision and we want to support you in whatever you decide.
We offer you a few options to consider when making arrangements for your pet.
Private Animal Cremation
Your pet is cremated individually in its own specially prepared pet cremation chamber, and its cremains are returned to you in an engraved, cherry wood box urn unless you have selected a different specialized vessel. Once you have your pet’s ashes, you can scatter them, bury them in your garden, or keep them in an urn in your home.
Communal Pet Cremation
For a limited budget, we offer communal pet cremation. With this selection, your pet is cremated along with others. The cremains are not returned but, instead, are gently scattered at the Pet Meadow Memorial Park. Many families will also choose memento items like ink, clay, framed paw prints, jewelry, or urns which can be ordered from Pet Meadow.
Pet Burial Arrangements On Your Own
Having a pet burial at home is natural and helps many individuals achieve closure and manage the bereavement process. You can also order headstones or other ornaments to mark the grave. If a home pet burial is an option you prefer, it’s essential to check with your township or municipality for guidelines and rules. There may be city and county codes that must be adhered to for pet burials. Check with your township for pet burial regulations. Once cleared and you have selected a site on your property, preparing the site is next.
The depth of the burial site is crucial. The site should be at least 2 to 3 feet deep to prevent other animals from disturbing your pet and control the freeze/thaw cycle from unearthing them. Many plant a flowering bush or place a grave marker over their pet.
